Italian L2 courses for foreign students (Italiano L2)

The Linguistic Centre of the University of Ferrara offers Italian courses in preparation for university classes, both in the first and second semester (September - November / January - June).

Who can have access to the courses

  • students taking part to university exchange programs 
  • foreign students enrolled in degree programs, specialization courses and PhD programs.
  • students of the Conservatorio G. Frescobaldi
  • foreign guests of the University of Ferrara

Duration and structure of the courses

For the second semester of 2024/2025, a new course, approximately at A2 level, is planned to be activated from the beginning of April to mid May, in addition to the three courses (A1, A2, B1) already launched in February.

The upcoming course will be scheduled as follows:

  • Enrollment and placement test: from March 3 to March 27

  • Course payment: by April 3 to confirm participation

  • Course dates: from April 7 to May 16. The schedule will be sent via email to enrolled students.

  • Exams: between May 12 and May 16

  • Holidays: from April 17 to April 25 (Easter, patron saint, Liberation Day); May 1-2 (Labor Day)

  • Mode: blended

Enrollment: Preliminary Test and Course Fee

In order to be admitted to the Italian courses, it is necessary to follow three steps:

1) fill the application form;

2) pay the fee :
The enrollment to the course will only be official after the payment of the fee. There are different fees according to the type of program each student is part of. Please pay attention and choose the correct option while paying. 

  • students participating in exchange programs - first course: 60 euros;
  • students participating in exchange programs - second course and following: 130 euros;
