Tandem
TANDEM PROJECT
The Tandem Project is a free learning program where students of different native languages practice together to improve their language skills.
It is based on three fundamental principles:
- Bilingualism – Each partner uses both languages;
- Reciprocity – Students teach and learn simultaneously;
- Self-learning – Participants are responsible for their own progress.
Each participant must be highly motivated and aware of the principles of reciprocity and autonomy.
After being matched with a Tandem partner, students begin their activities independently. Each pair agrees on the program, calendar and location of their meetings.
Who can participate?
All students enrolled at the University of Ferrara can participate in Tandem Learning.
How to enroll
To enroll in Tandem Learning, you must complete the registration form.
The completed and signed form must be sent as a PDF to segreteria.cla.ita@unife.it. Only scanned copies or PDFs with a digital signature will be accepted. Please name the file: lastname_firstname_tandem.pdf.
You are required to complete the form and sign the authorization to share your email address with your Tandem partner. This information is mandatory for registration.
Once the registration period is over, each student will receive an email with the contact details of their assigned tandem partner.
Learning Diary
Tandem students are required to complete a Diary, in which they must record: their objectives, the activities carried out, the date and duration of each meeting. Students who submit their completed Tandem Diary, including at least 10 meetings in one semester, to segreteria.cla.ita@unife.it will receive a Certificate of Participation, which can be added to their portfolio. Valentina Zaccarelli – Head of the Italian L2 Section – will be available for support throughout the activity.
